Parlor for pet groomers

Parlor checks the dog’s vaccines at booking and keeps every pet on file.

Each pet has a profile with breed, size, coat, temperament flags and grooming notes. Booking warns, or stops, when a required vaccine is missing or expired. $79 a month covers every groomer.

Where the week leaks

A grooming shop loses money in the same three places every week.

  1. Tuesday, 9:00. A doodle booked as a small bath arrives matted.

Breed, size, coat and the last groom’s notes sit on the pet’s profile, so you see what’s coming before the dog does.

  2. An expired rabies certificate, found at the front desk.

Mark vaccines as required and booking warns, or stops, when one is missing or out of date. The owner gets a link to upload the card.

  3. A dog who should come monthly hasn’t been back in twelve weeks.

Book a standing appointment every two weeks or every month, so the next groom is on the calendar before they leave.

The no-show math

No-shows run 20–30% without reminders. Under 10% with them.

A $90 full groom, missed twice a week, is over $9,000 a year. A deposit and a reminder the day before bring no‑shows under one in ten.

How a booking runs

Parlor runs the whole groom, from the booking to the pickup.

  1. 1 Book

The owner books from your link.

They pick the groom, the groomer and a time for their pet. There’s no app to install.

  2. 2 Vaccines

    The vaccines are checked first.

Required vaccines are on the pet’s profile with their expiry dates. Booking warns or stops when one is missing.

  3. 3 Release

The matting release is signed ahead.

Attach a form to the service and it goes out with the booking, with a reminder the day before if it isn’t signed.

  4. 4 Check out

They pay and tip at pickup.

Add the de-shed, take the tip and charge the card. The deposit comes off the total.

Bath packages, gift cards and monthly memberships sell from the same account, and every pet’s notes stay on its profile.

Before you switch

Parlor fits a shop that books grooms ahead. Here’s where it stops.

Parlor fits a shop that

  • books its grooms by appointment, at a shop
  • needs vaccine records checked before the dog arrives
  • wants owners booking through its own page

What Parlor doesn’t do

  • Send “ready for pickup” texts. Confirmations and the day-before reminder go by email. Text reminders are activating as carrier registration completes.
  • Set a groom’s price and length from the dog’s size, or cap large dogs per day. Make a service for each size you price differently.
  • Plan mobile grooming routes.
  • Run boarding or daycare.

* Separately, payments you run through Parlor carry 3.25% + 35¢ — deposits, checkout, tips, and no-show fees alike — card processing included, deducted from each payout. A standalone charge like a no-show fee carries a $1.50 minimum.

Questions

Groomers ask these before they switch.

How do vaccine records work?

Choose which vaccines you require: rabies always, Bordetella and DHPP if you want them. Each pet’s records sit on its profile with expiry dates, and anything expiring in the next 30 days is flagged. The owner gets a link to upload the card.

Can booking stop a dog with expired shots?

Yes, for pets marked as needing vaccination evidence. Choose Warn to book and flag it, or Block to refuse the booking until the records are on file. Off still emails the owner a link to upload them.

What’s on a pet’s profile?

Species, breed, size from XS to XL, weight, coat type, birth date, flags like bites, anxious or needs a muzzle, grooming notes and a photo. The owner still pays and gets the emails.

Can I price by size?

Make a service for each size you price differently, for example Full groom · Small and Full groom · Large, each with its own price and length.

Can I book a dog every month?

Yes. Book a standing appointment every week, every two weeks or every month, and the next groom is on the calendar before they leave.

Do owners get a text when the dog is ready?

No. Confirmations and the day-before reminder go by email. Text reminders are activating as carrier registration completes.

What does it cost?

$79 a month for every groomer, and pet parents pay your price with no service fee added. If you take cards through Parlor, payments carry our standard rate, currently 3.25% + 35¢, card processing included. Payments are optional: keep your own terminal and the rate never applies.
